Gunmen Kill Another Lawyer From Saddam Trial

Iraqi security officials say gunmen have killed a lawyer representing Saddam Hussein's co-defendants on charges of crimes against humanity.

A second lawyer was wounded when gunmen opened fire on their car in Baghdad Tuesday. The two were defending Saddam's former vice president and his half brother. Last month, another defense lawyer in the trial was shot dead.

In other violence Tuesday, coalition forces killed two insurgents during a raid in Ramadi. Separately, a senior Iraqi security official and a policeman were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the southern city of Basra. An in the northern city of Kirkuk, a roadside bomb killed a policeman.

Meanwhile, U.S and Iraqi forces are continuing their offensive against insurgents in the town of Husaybah near the Syrian border, where officials say one Marine and 36 insurgents have been killed since Saturday.
