• President blames Iraq's unrest on continued occupation IRNA 11 Oct 2005 -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Tuesday that Iraq's unrest is mainly due to presence of foreign troops and occupiers and that continued occupation will cause division between Iraq and neighboring states.
• British Government To Pay After Al-Basrah Violence RFE/RL 11 Oct 2005 -- The British government says it is willing to pay compensation for the casualties and damage caused in the southern Iraqi city of Al-Basrah in September when two British undercover soldiers were freed in a military operation.
