Iran welcomes completion of work on Iraqi draft constitution

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi here Monday expressed satisfaction with completion of work on codification of Iraqi draft constitution.
According to reports, Iraq's Shi'ite-dominated parliament completed its work on a constitution on Sunday that was at once rejected by minority Sunnis.
"We hope continuation of political process in Iraq will lead to referendum of the constitution and establishment of the government according to the schedule," he said.
Asefi added, "Undoubtedly, establishment of stability and security in Iraq will promote economy in that country and serve the nation's interest."
