Iraq Alleges Jordan Allowing Destabilization Efforts
21 August 2005 -- The Iraqi government today criticized Jordan for allegedly allowing Saddam Hussein's family to fund destabilizing activities in Iraq.
Government spokesman Leith Kubba told reporters that the ousted Iraqi dictator's relatives living in Jordan have "huge amounts of money" to support efforts to revive Ba'ath Party organizations.
Kubba did not specify individual family members, but Saddam Hussein's two oldest daughters live in the Jordanian capital Amman.
