Killing of Egyptian Envoy to Iraq, Ihab al-Sherif
The United States condemns the brutal murder of Ambassador Ihab al-Sherif, Charge d'affaires of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq. Such attacks will not deter us from our commitment to assist the Iraqi people in their transition towards a peaceful and prosperous Iraq.
We will continue to work with the Iraqi government and security officials to bring those responsible to justice and to eliminate the network behind them.
