A British MP was ordered to leave the House of Commons Thursday after refusing to withdraw his accusation that Prime Minister Tony Blair "misled" parliament over the Iraq war.

Plaid Cymru (Welsh Nationalist) MP Adam Price said Friday was second anniversary of the vote on going to war with Iraq and the there was "compelling evidence that the Prime Minister misled this House in taking us to war."
"Isn't it high time we held him to account?" said Price, who has been leading a petition to impeach Blair for his "high crimes and misdemeanours."
According to PA News, parliamentary speaker Michael Martin asked Price twice to "withdraw that remark" but the Welsh Nationalist MP said he was unwilling to do so. He was then ordered to leave the parliamentary chamber.

Under Britain's parliamentary regulations, MPs are not allowed to suggest any of their colleague lied as all are considered to be 'honourable members' of the House of Commons.

Just prior to the Iraq war, Britain's longest serving MP Tam Dalyell was also ordered out of the House of Commons in March 2003 after accusing the government of misleading MPs over its discredited dossier on Saddam Hussein's arms threat.

Dalyell was told, after eventually left the chamber unescorted, that he was not suspended for any period from attending the House of Commons but had been issued with what was effectively a final warning.
