Article 32 Hearing Begins
Camp Al Tahreer, Baghdad- The Article 32 hearing for Sgt. Michael P. Williams, a member of Company C, 1st Battalion, 41st Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, Kan., began Dec. 9, 2004 on the Camp Al-Tahreer (Camp Liberty).
Following an opening statement by the prosecution, two witnesses were cross examined by both the defending and prosecuting teams. Examination of witnesses will resume Dec. 10.
Sgt. Williams has been charged with premeditated murder, obstruction of justice and making a false official statement. These charges are only allegations. The Soldier is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
