• First ID Soldiers Capture AIF Cell Leaders MNF-I/MNC-I 06 Dec 2004 -- 1st Infantry Division Soldiers captured two anti-Iraqi force cell leaders in separate raids conducted in the Tikrit area Dec. 5.

• SOLDIERS' LAWSUIT VOA 06 Nov 2004 -- Eight U.S. soldiers are suing the Pentagon over a policy that they say is extending the deployment of thousands of service personnel in Iraq beyond their agreed commitment to service. The lawsuit that comes as more soldiers are being ordered deployed to Iraq to contain an on-going insurgency.
• Elections Will Be Defining Moment For Iraq, Says Bush Washington File 06 Nov 2004 -- President Bush said the January 30, 2005, date for Iraqi elections will go forward both to allow the Iraqi people to participate in democracy and to send a message to insurgents that they cannot stop Iraq's progress toward democracy.
