IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Vienna, Nov 3, Kyodo/OANA/IRNA -- Hungary will withdraw its 300 noncombat troops from Iraq by March 31, Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsany said Wednesday, according to the Associated Press. "We are obliged to stay there until the (Iraqi) elections. To stay longer is an impossibility," the country`s new prime minister was quoted as saying at a ceremony to mark the end of mandatory military service in Hungary. Hungary sent the troops to Iraq as part of the US-led coalition but the government has been under mounting pressure from citizens and opposition parties who oppose the soldiers` presence, an AP dispatch from Budapest said. /2322/1432
