- IRAQ/FULLUJAH UPDATE VOA 12 Nov 2004 -- After five days of fighting, U.S. and Iraqi forces are now said to be in control of nearly all of Fallujah, capturing or killing hundreds of insurgents who have used the city as a stronghold for months. But video sent back by journalists imbedded with U.S. forces there shows tough street battles continue with insurgents who also shot down a U.S. army helicopter north of Baghdad Friday.
- Fallujah 80 Percent Under Coalition Control, General Says AFPS 12 Nov 2004 -- As fighting continues in Fallujah, Iraq, coalition forces control 80 percent of the city, a top U.S. Marine general said in Iraq today.
- HELICOPTER SHOT DOWN BY INSURGENTS CENTCOM 12 Nov 2004 -- A UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter was shot down by anti-Iraqi forces northeast of Baghdad at about 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.
- Iraq: U.S. Forces Take Most Of Al-Fallujah As Insurgent Attacks Erupt Elsewhere RFE/RL 12 Nov 2004 -- U.S. forces say they have taken some 70 percent of Al-Fallujah as insurgents appear to be making a last stand in the south of the city. But as the U.S. troops -- backed by heavy armor and air power -- look certain to have all of the town soon under their control, insurgents are launching attacks on Iraqi government targets in other parts of central and northern Iraq.
- Mosque Raid Nets Weapons Cache in Western Baghdad MNF-I/MNC-I 12 Nov 2004 -- Elements of an Iraqi National Guard Battalion conducted a cordon and search of a western Baghdad mosque at 2 p.m., capturing a large weapons cache and detaining three clerics and 23 suspected anti-Iraqi forces.

- IRAQ: Hospital and school repairs completed in Tikrit IRIN 12 Nov 2004 -- A grand ceremony marked the opening of the al-Aola primary school and the Salah Din rehabilitation hospital in the city of Tikrit last week, the home of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, 160 km northwest of the capital, Baghdad.

- Iraqi Red Crescent Says Al-Fallujah 'Big Disaster' RFE/RL 12 Nov 2004 -- Aid agencies today called on U.S. forces and the Iraqi government to allow deliveries of food, water, and medicine to Al-Fallujah, where there has been intense fighting this week.
