Negotiating delegation still waiting for last-minute response,
US soldiers were trained to bust first and check later."- Al-Sharq al-Awsat
Al-Sharq al-Awsat [From commentary by Khalid al-Qishtayni]: "There was a subtle, genuinely English prick of satire in the latest statement by the commander of the British forces in Basra, implicitly directed at his American allies. Commenting on the redeployment of British troops in areas around Baghdad, he said the move was necessitated by the fact that British soldiers were trained to think before acting. This has always been in the very core of their training. US soldiers, on the other hand, seem to have been trained to bust first and check later."
``
Capture of terrorists, alien or indigenous- a story we dont belive''- Al-Nahdhah
Al-Nahdhah [From commentary by Abd al-Mun'im al-A'sam]: "We should not be blamed for disbelieving official statements and statements claiming the capture of terrorists, alien or indigenous, simply because we do not see or hear any of these publicly displayed on our TV screens. Whereas these same terrorists, or their representatives, keep popping up on Arab TV channels, brazenly staring us in the face and freely flexing their muscles as they deliver their threatening messages of terror."

Al-Bayyinah [From editorial]:
The murder of media, -Al-Mada
Al-Mada [From editorial]: "Following the assassination of an Al-Sharqiyah channel newsreader and the murder of the editor-in-chief of an old Iraqi newspaper, the car bombing yesterday of Al-Arabiya satellite TV office in Baghdad comes as the third assault on media workers here in five days. It is hard to speculate on the unifying factor that has brought supposedly diverse terror groups together to launch these choreographed anti-media assaults. The only likely explanation for targeting media workers so intensively is that some have become too deeply immersed in murderous practices to envisage any choice other than violence as a means of self-expression. Understandably, such people cannot stand others trading quiet words amid the loud crackle of guns."
