  • U.S. Forces Pound Al-Fallujah RFE/RL 02 Oct 2004 -- A relative calm was reported in the Iraqi town of Samarra today, one day after U.S. and Iraqi forces battling insurgents secured control of important municipal and police buildings in the town.

  • MNF precision strike targets anti-Iraqi force trainers MNF-I/MNC-I 02 Oct 2004 -- At about 6 p.m., Oct. 2, Multi-National Force-Iraq conducted a precision strike against a building where15 to 20 anti-Iraqi force personnel were conducting military-style training on the outskirts of Fallujah.
  • Insurgents blow up Iraqi infrastructure MNF-I/MNC-I 02 Oct 2004 -- At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 1, a Multi-National Force-Iraq patrol witnessed an explosion on the second floor of the Ramadi Agricultural Center. Reports from the patrol noticed one man hanging around the building. The building exploded as soon as he left.

  • INDONESIA IRAQ HOSTAGES VOA 02 Oct 2004 -- Kidnappers holding two Indonesian women hostages in Iraq are demanding the release of a militant cleric accused of leading a terrorist group in Southeast Asia. But the cleric, Abu Bakar Bashir, has condemned the kidnapping.
