Soldier arraigned on prisoner abuse charges
Baghdad - A Soldier who worked in the Abu Ghurayb prison was arraigned Aug. 11 on charges related to prisoner abuse at the prison.
Army Spc. Megan Ambuhl faces charges that include maltreatment of subordinates, dereliction of duties, and committing indecent acts with detainees. [Editors note: Articles 81, 93, and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, respectively].
At Ambuhl's arraignment, her attorney deferred entering a plea or forum choice, which is choosing to be tried by a jury or solely by a judge or panel of judges.
The military judge at the arraignment ruled that a decision on a request by Ambuhl's attorney for an expert on the psychological impact of working in a prison environment would need to be made by Aug. 18
