Hakim: SCIRI ready to mediate in Najaf conflict

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA -- It was reported here on Friday that the head of Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI) Abdul Aziz Hakim has suggested to mediate between Moqtada Sadr and Iraqi interim government to stop war in Najaf. Earlier, Sadr had said on Friday the doors are not closed to negotiations. Conflict in Najaf has continued for the whole past week and according to the Iraqi health ministry report on Friday, so far 165 persons have been killed and 600 others injured. According to the latest news, a convoy of ambulances entered the town to collect injured and dead people across the city. 1391/1771
