Two Foreign Hostages Released In Iraq
10 August 2004 -- A Jordanian official says two Jordanian truck drivers kidnapped by Iraqi militant groups were released.
Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ali al-Ayed told the Jordanian news agency Petra that the Jordanian diplomatic mission in Iraq received the two yesterday.
The two were kidnapped by a group called the Fighters of Iraq Death Squad on 26 July while driving trucks near the town of Al-Qaim close to the Iraqi-Syrian border.
Al-Ayed said the two are on their way to Jordan and expected to arrive today.
