IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Aug 8, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said here Sunday that the Iraqi charge d`affaires to Tehran is to be summoned to the Foreign Ministry today (Sunday). Speaking in his weekly press briefing, he said the charge d`affaires is to explain about some remarks made by certain Iraqi officials in the past few days. He also noted that the Iranian Foreign Ministry is preparing an invitation letter for Iraqi Prime Minister Iyad Allawi to visit Iran. Asefi further remarked that Iran was going on with its negotiations with European countries as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), adding that Tehran expected relations with the IAEA would as soon as possible return to its normal course after the closure of Iran`s nuclear file. He dismissed the claims made by some media that Europeans have sent a harsh letter to Iran and said Iran had received no letter from Europeans in the past 45 days. 1424/1432
