Iran to deliver complaint to Iraqi court about Saddam`s crimes

Tehran, July 5, IRNA -- Iran will put forward a complaint to the Iraqi court about Saddam Hussein`s crimes against Iranian nation by imposing war in September 1980 and launching chemical attacks against Iranian soldiers. "The complaint has been made in line with international law," government spokesman Abdollah Ramezanzadeh said on Monday. He told a press conference that Iranians have suffered the most from Saddam Hussein`s regime and Iran will explore every legal channels to place its complaints against the Iraqi dictator. A reporter asked about content of the message to President Mohammad Khatami from United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan delivered by his personal envoy to Iraq Lakhdar Brahimi, Ramezanzadeh said that parties involved in Iraq are unanimous about Iran`s vital cooperation with them to restore peace and security in the country and Annan had also called for Iranian assistance in ensuring regional stability.
