Commander: US military presence in region to fight Islam, Muslims

Tehran, May 25, IRNA -- Commander of the Islamic Republic Air Force Reza Pardis said here on Tuesday that the main goal of the US military build-up in the Middle East region, particularly in Iraq and Afghanistan, is campaign against Islam and Muslims. Public Relations Department at the Air Force quoted Pardis as telling a group of clerics that the US has increased its troop deployment in the Middle East region on the false pretext of promoting democracy, freedom, and campaign against international terrorism. Pardis said the world Muslims should be aware and vigilant enough to face the all-out aggression of enemies with all might. He said that Iranian experts have today been capable of gaining remarkable progress in the field of conventional military arms by relying on their values. 216/AH/210
