Body of dead German elite anti-terror trooper found in Iraq
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Berlin, May 2, IRNA -- German Foreign Ministry spokesman Walter Lindner announced Saturday that the body of one of two elite GSG-9 anti-terror troopers who were killed during an ambush near the Iraqi town of Fallujah last month, had been found and properly identified, DPA reported. The remains of the German security official will probably be transferred to Germany on Sunday, according to the foreign ministry. The body of the other dead security agent has yet to be recovered. The troopers, ages 27 and 35, were reportedly shot dead when their convoy, en route from Amman, Jordan to the German embassy in Baghdad, was attacked near Fallujah. The security agents were scheduled to relieve other security troopers at the German embassy in Baghdad as part of a routine rotation of personnel. OT/214
