Iraqi Officials to Outline Priorities for Use of Reconstruction Funds
Meeting with international donors and international organizations
Senior representatives from Iraqi ministries will meet with World Bank and United Nations officials and major donors to the International Reconstruction Fund Facility for Iraq February 28-29 to discuss the allocation of pledged resources to specific projects.
According to a February 27 statement from State Department Spokesman Richard Boucher, the Abu Dhabi meeting "clearly illustrates how Iraqis are taking charge of their own affairs, and are working directly with the international community on the vital task of building a new, free, and prosperous nation."

Abu Dhabi Meeting on International Reconstruction Fund Facility For Iraq
Representatives of the United States and major aid donors, the World Bank, the United Nations Development Group, and the Coalition Provisional Coalition Authority will meet in Abu Dhabi February 28-29 with a senior Ministerial-level Iraqi delegation.
The meeting will put the finishing touches to the International Reconstruction Fund Facility For Iraq, and will accelerate flows of already pledged reconstruction assistance to Iraq, and will match funding and projects with Iraqi priorities.
This meeting demonstrates that the World Bank and United Nations trust funds for Iraq are now open for business. It also clearly illustrates how Iraqis are taking charge of their own affairs, and are working directly with the international community on the vital task of building a new, free, and prosperous nation.
The United States deeply appreciates the efforts the United Arab Emirates has made to host this meeting. The United Arab Emirates has again made clear their solidarity with
the new Iraq.
