GENEVA, Jan. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- The Swiss authorities on Monday revealed details about frozen Iraqi assets in Swiss banks.
The funds, had been found mainly in Swiss branches of Iraqi-owned banks, said officials of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs.
Fifty-five people and five Iraqi companies or institutions are affected by the freeze.
More details will only be published as part of a government decision to transfer the money into a reconstruction fund, officials said.
The Swiss government ordered the freeze last July at the request of the United Nations.
