THREE MARINES KILLED IN ACCIDENT
AL KUT, Iraq - Three U.S. Marines from the First Marine Expeditionary Force were killed and seven injured when a rocket-propelled grenade launcher they were firing for familiarization malfunctioned. The incident occurred in a remote area near the city of Al Kut at approximately 7 p.m. yesterday.
The names of the Marines are being withheld pending next of kin notification.
The incident is currently under investigation.
