V CORPS SOLDIERS WOUNDED IN UNEXPLODED ORDNANCE ACCIDENT (UXO)
CAMP VIRGINIA, Kuwait -- Three V Corps soldiers were wounded by unexploded ordnance on Wednesday while conducting a patrol. Three Iraqis, who wanted to show the U.S. patrol an area of munitions that had not been cleared, approached the patrol. The patrol followed the Iraqi's to the site, which had UXO. One Iraqi approached the UXO too closely, which resulted in the UXO exploding.
One Iraqi was killed and the two other Iraqis were wounded.
All soldiers were evacuated through aid stations.
The incident is currently under investigation.
