Anti-war protest continue throughout Europe

RAMSTEIN AIR BASE, Germany (USAFENS) - As U.S. and coalition forces continue ahead with Operation Iraqi Freedom, anti-war protests are occurring throughout Europe and the world.

The following protests are slated to occur within the U.S. Air Forces in Europe command during the next few weeks.  All American forces members and their families are asked to be aware of their surroundings, and be vigilant in pro-active force protection measures.

Vicenza, Italy - April 10 - The anti-war protest will be held across the street from Gate 2, Caserman Ederie. This will be the eighth consecutive protest on a Thursday. The protest is expected to draw 100 people, and violence is not expected. SOURCE: website

Stuttgart, Germany - April 12 noon - 5 p.m. - There will be a scheduled anti-war demonstration April 12, from noon to 5 p.m. in Stuttgart. The demonstration is expected to attract 3000 plus supporters and violence is not expected. SOURCE: website

Rome, Italy - April 12 - The Italian "Stop The War Committee" has scheduled an anti-war rally early in the afternoon. The rally is part of the day of international day of action coordinated by international anti-war groups.  SOURCE: press

Shannon, Ireland - There will be a anti-war demonstration planned fro the Shannon IAP. This demonstration is being organized by the Irish Anti-War Movement, and is part of the larger International Day of Action series of anti war demonstrations being called for by the Stop The War Coalition. The international day of action is a day of larger coordinated demonstrations planned to take place around the world protesting the war in Iraqi. SOURCE: website

France - The French No "War on Iraq," a national anti-war coordination committee, has scheduled demonstrations through out France April 12. These demonstrations are part of the world wide international day of action. SOURCE: press

Germany - 19-20 April -Easter weekend has been a prime date for German anti-war protestors since the 1960's. Easter weekend 2002 saw tens of thousands of Germans protesting, in more than 50 cities, across Germany. SOURCE: website
