COALITION F-15E DOWN, TWO AIRMEN MISSING
OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM - Two Coalition airmen are missing after their F-15E Strike Eagle went down in Iraq approximately 7:30 p.m. EDT Sunday.
The airmen and their aircraft were forward deployed from the 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C.
Coalition forces do not discuss details of search and rescue operations. Leaders are committed to accounting for all missing Coalition people.
The Coalition expects Iraqi forces and Iraqi citizens to abide by all Geneva Conventions relating to the treatment of prisoners. Violations of these laws will bring swift and severe consequences.
The cause of the incident is unknown at this time and is being investigated.
