POTENTIAL FRIENDLY FIRE INCIDENT UNDER INVESTIGATION

OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM - U.S. Central Command officials are investigating a possible friendly fire incident involving an F-15E Strike Eagle and Coalition ground forces.

One U.S. Army soldier is dead and several others are reported injured or missing in connection with the incident. Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. More information about casualties and the incident in general will be released when it becomes available.

The incident is under investigation.
