COALITION FORCES TARGET MINISTRY OF INFORMATION
OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM - Coalition forces targeted the Ministry of Information in downtown Baghdad at 6:00p.m. EST today to reduce the Hussein regime's command and control capabilities.
The Ministry is located west of the Tigris River and was targeted with a Tomahawk Land Attack Munition. The strike enhances the security of coalition forces conducting operations across Iraq.
Battle damage assessment is ongoing. Coalition forces target only lawful military targets and go to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties and damage to civilian facilities.
