OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM - Coalition aircraft bombed the main training facility of the Iraqi paramilitary forces at approximately 3:30 p.m. EST Saturday. In this key strike, the Coalition used satellite-guided munitions to target the barracks located in eastern Baghdad in Ar Rustamiyah. The Iraqi paramilitary forces in this area are in charge of security functions in eastern Baghdad. Battle damage assessment is ongoing. Coalition forces target only lawful military targets and go to great lengths to minimize civilian casualties and collateral damage. |
