SOUTHERN IRAQ - A United States Marine from the First Marine Expeditionary Force was killed late Friday night when he was hit by a High-Mobility, Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) while engaged in a firefight with Iraqi soldiers in South-Central Iraq. The Marine was evacuated to a medical unit in Southern Iraq. The name of the Marine is being withheld pending next of kin notification. |
