FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COALITION CONTINUES INFORMATION CAMPAIGN WITH LEAFLET DROPS
PSAB, Saudi Arabia - Coalition aircraft dropped informational leaflets today over southern Iraq.
Coalition aircraft dropped a total of approximately 120,000 leaflets over several locations south of Baghdad at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time. The leaflets were dropped approximately 200 miles southeast of Baghdad, and north of Basrah.
The Coalition dropped three versions of leaflets that expressed a variety of messages. Messages conveyed information on Coalition radio broadcasts, United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441 and Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's regime. One leaflet type encouraged Iraqi troops not to use weapons of mass destruction, while another contrasted Saddam Hussein's wealth with the poverty in which many Iraqis live.
Readers can view English and Arabic versions of all leaflet types at the U.S. Central Command web site,
