MACDILL AFB, FL - Coalition aircraft dropped 180,000 informational leaflets in Iraq earlier today.

Coalition aircraft dropped the leaflets over several locations south of Baghdad. The Coalition dropped several versions of leaflets. One of the leaflet types provided information about radio frequencies on which Coalition forces are broadcasting information about several topics, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 1441, United Nations weapons inspectors in Iraq and Iraqi President Saddam Hussein's regime. One type of leaflet encouraged Iraqi troops to not risk their lives against Coalition forces, another leaflet type stated to Iraqi military if they take an offensive posture they will be destroyed, another type of leaflet mentioned that Coalition forces do not wish to harm the noble people of Iraq and the other leaflet warned against destruction of oil wells.
