V-O-A's Lisa McAdams in Moscow has details. TEXT: The deputy foreign minister says Russia is willing to look at any and all proposals that aim to bring about a political settlement on Iraq. But addressing reporters Friday in Moscow, Mr. Mamedov stressed the proposals must be sincere. /// MAMEDOV ACT /// If it is just another way to legitimize a quick military operation, then our position is well known, and we are on the record. If it is a sincere attempt to find a political solution in extraordinarily difficult circumstances, then, of course, we will take all proposals into account. /// END ACT /// Mr. Mamedov says Russia believes a military operation would be a tragic mistake. Moscow has long disputed the need for any new Security Council resolution on Iraq, saying more time is needed to enable existing resolutions to work.
