TEXT: The president says some people do not view Saddam Hussein as a risk to peace. He says they are wrong.

Mr. Bush says he believes another U-N disarmament resolution may be helpful, indicating the future of the world body could be at state.

I want the United Nations to be an effective body. I think it is in our country's interest that it be effective. And we will see whether it has the capacity to be effective.

Britain is the strongest U-S ally on the council, and some of the biggest anti-war protests have been on British soil. President Bush says he is not worried about the political impact on Prime Minister Tony Blair, saying he is showing courage in the cause of peace. (SIGNED)
