Text: "Free Iraqis" to Discuss Future of Iraqi Economy, Infrastructure
(Discussions part of State Department's Future of Iraq Project) (300) The State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs will host 15 "Free Iraqis" January 29-30 to discuss economic policy and infrastructure issues that Iraq will face in the post-Saddam Hussein era, according to a January 29 press notice. The discussions are part of the State Department's Future of Iraq Project Working Group on Economy and Infrastructure. According to the press notice, the 15 participants will discuss "economic policy, restoration of transportation, electricity, communications infrastructure, job creation, debt and reparations, conversion of the military industry to civilian uses, banking, currency reform and foreign direct investment."
