INTRO: Iraq's Ambassador to the United Nations, Mohammed Aldouri says his country will give active cooperation to U-N weapons inspectors. Correspondent Jenny Badner reports from the United Nations that the Iraqi diplomated rejected assertions that it has failed to disarm.

TEXT: Mr. Aldouri made his remarks to reporters while the Security Council held closed door consultations on the next step in the disarmament process.

We are reaching out to the international community and saying we will go a step further and proactively cooperate with the inspectors [and] prove that these allegations are nothing but fabrications.

Earlier, International Atomic Energy Agency chief, Mohammed ElBaradei warned Iraq to cooperate.

Iraq needs to show proactive support in the next few weeks because we all know that time is running out and the international community is growing impatient.

Mr. ElBaradei met with the Security Council during Wednesday's closed door meeting.

U-S Secretary of State Colin Powell is to give intelligence information on Iraqi weapons to the Security Council next week. (SIGNED)
