To this end, he added, Iran pursued using nuclear technology for peaceful purposes as a basic principle to enhance the scientific power of the Islamic states. Kharrazi also referred to co-existence and positive and constructive interactions in cultural, scientific and technological areas between Muslim states and the west to eradicate the real rootcauses of violence and terrorism under the supervision of the United Nations as a probable necessity. According to the foreign minister, such fundamental steps towards materializing constructive and positive interaction would be well taken by heeding to the most urgent demands of the Islamic world and trying to change the colonial viewpoints. He also cited respecting values, beliefs and the rightful demands of Muslim nations, avoidance from imposing Western values and manners on Islamic communities and trying to compensate for the damages inflicted on the Islamic World by the brutal raids of colonialism as among other steps in this regard. 1424-SF/213 End
