NATO wants governing responsibilities returned to Iraqis
IRNA
Brussels, Dec 4, IRNA -- NATO foreign ministers Thursday welcomed the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1511 on Iraq and said they "are committed to its full implementation in order to restore conditions of stability and security in the country, and return governing responsibilities and authorities to the people of Iraq. " The ministers meeting in Brussels today in a statement said that the Alliance continues to support Poland in its leadership of a multi-national division in Iraq. They said they will review NATO`s contribution to the stabilisation efforts on a regular basis. "In that regard, we welcome the Agreement on Political Process signed in Baghdad on November 15, 2003. Peace, stability and reconstruction in Iraq remain a high priority," stressed the statement. NK/215 End
