INTRO: Russia says it wants to see changes in the new draft U-N Security Council Resolution on Iraq. V-O-A's Lisa McAdams reports from Moscow.

TEXT: Deputy Foreign Minister Yuri Fedotov says the new draft resolution, circulated by Washington Monday, still does not take all of Moscow's concerns into consideration.

In an interview with Russia's Interfax news agency, Mr. Fedotov said that, while the latest draft is an improvement, it still lacks sufficient details.

He said the draft is especially ambiguous on the questions of when Iraq's sovereignty will be restored and how large a role the United Nation's will play in the country's post-war reconstruction process.

Mr. Fedotov says Russia intends to suggest a number of additional amendments to the latest U-N draft. But he did not elaborate.

Russia is one of five member countries of the Security Council with a veto power. (SIGNED)
