Speaker warns against discord, tension in Iraq
IRNA
Tehran, Oct 6, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Mehdi Karroubi said here on
Monday that discord and tension are major threats facing the Iraqi
people in their endeavor to establish a popular government.
Karroubi told Head of the Supreme Assembly of Islamic Revolution
in Iraq (SAIRI) Seyed Abdulaziz Hakim that Iran hopes that compilation
of a Constitution and establishment of a permanent and broad-based
government in Iraq as well as restoration of security and calm there
would leave the occupiers will no option but to withdraw.
Karroubi said Iran is ready to contribute to Iraq`s
reconstruction.
Hakim said for his part that Iran has always supported the Iraqis
and today, Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Arabs and other groups and in whole
all Iraqis feel that they are provided with Iran`s grace.
He said establishment of security is the main problem the
occupiers are facing in Iraq.
He added that the occupiers know pretty well that they are not
able to provide security even for themselves. "We warned them from the
first day to cede affairs to the Iraqi people as soon as possible,"
he declared.
The SAIRI chief said establishment of a popular parliament to
compile Constitution and install a broad-based government is the only
way to guarantee stability in Iraq.
He called for Iran`s active contribution to Iraq`s reconstruction.
