Belgian PM says position on Iraq was right

Brussels, Sept 1, IRNA -- Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt said 
Monday that developments in Iraq show that the anti-war position of 
his country was right. 
He told Belgian daily Le Soir in an interview that the position of
Belgium -- which was opposed to the US war on Iraq - was the ``correct
one. `` 
Asked if Belgium is ready to participate in the reconstruction of 
Iraq, he replied ``Yes,`` but on two conditions. If the UN adopts a 
very clear resolution and secondly if Europe is also involved. 
``Without UN legitimacy, Belgium will not take part," he stressed.
