- IRAQ VOA 18 Sept 2003-- The commander of U-S troops in Iraq has appealed to Iraqi citizens to help the coalition root out suspected terrorists linked to attacks on American forces. Army General Ricardo Sanchez spoke with reporters as a U-S military convoy was attacked west of Baghdad, with reports of several American casualties.
- HUNGARY/MYERS/IRAQ VOA 18 Sept 2003-- The top U-S military officer, General Richard Myers, says the United States wants to train thousands more new Iraqi police, possibly at bases in central Europe.
- IRAQ WRAP VOA 18 Sept 2003-- The U-S military says three American soldiers in Iraq have been killed after coming under fire while checking out a suspected weapons site near the town of Tikrit, the hometown of ousted leader Saddam Hussein and a stronghold of anti-coalition resistance. The attack follows an earlier ambush Thursday in which at least two American soldiers were injured in what witnesses say was a roadside bombing and a firefight with unidentified attackers west of Baghdad

- CONGRESS/IRAQ VOA 18 Sept 2003-- The U-S Congress has received President Bush's 87-billion-dollar spending request for Iraq and Afghanistan, and will open hearings on the package next week.
