- IRAQ/VIOLENCE VOA 10 Aug 2003 -- Violence erupted for a second day in the southern Iraqi city of Basra, where crippling shortages of power and fuel have made life difficult during the hottest days of the year.
- 1ST ARMORED DIVISION SOLDIER FOUND DEAD CENTCOM 10 Aug 2003 -- A soldier with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment was found dead in troop living quarters at approximately 5:00 pm. Aug. 9.
- COALITION EFFORTS AID IN REBUILDING IRAQ CENTCOM 10 Aug 2003 -- Coalition forces improved Iraqis' lives by renovating an Olympic swimming pool in Mosul and refurbishing the Agriculture Ministry Building in Tikrit.
- SOLDIER DIES FROM APPARENT HEAT STRESS CENTCOM 10 Aug 2003 -- A 3rd Corps Support Command soldier died from apparent heat stress on Aug. 9, while riding in a convoy north of Ad Diwaniyah.

- U-S/IRAQ VOA 09 Aug 2003 -- A prominent Republican in the U-S Senate says the Bush administration should seek a new United Nations resolution on Iraq. Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Richard Lugar says a U-N resolution would promote greater international backing for reconstruction and peacekeeping efforts.

- U-N/IRAQ/REFUGEES VOA 09 Aug 2003 -- The United Nations Refugee agency, U-N-H-C-R, is repatriating nearly 250 Iraqi refugees from Rafha camp in northern Saudi Arabia. This is the second group of refugees to go home since the fall of Saddam Hussein.

- Iraq: Bremer Says Islamic Militants Have Returned RFE/RL 10 Aug 2003 -- The top U.S. administrator in Iraq, L. Paul Bremer, is quoted as saying hundreds of Islamic militants who fled Iraq during the war have returned and are planning terrorist attacks.
