CAMP DOHA, Kuwait -- One soldier was killed and five were wounded early this morning in Al Fallujah when an unknown assailant fired at them with a rocket-propelled grenade.

The soldiers are assigned to the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

The injured were evacuated by vehicle to a local military medical facility.

The names of the dead and wounded are being withheld until their next-of-kin has been notified.
