CAMP DOHA, Kuwait -- A soldier from the US Army's Fourth Infantry Division died a result of wounds received when a checkpoint near Balad was attacked by unknown assailants with small arms and rocket-propelled grenades yesterday evening.

The soldiers name is being withheld pending notification of his next-of-kin.
