
Iraq: Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Separate Incidents
Baghdad, 27 May 2003 (RFE/RL) -- The U.S. Central Command says two U.S. soldiers were killed yesterday in separate incidents in Iraq.
Officials said one soldier was killed and another wounded when unidentified gunmen attacked a U.S. convoy some 190 kilometers northwest of Baghdad.
Later yesterday, Central Command issued a statement saying a U.S. soldier was killed and three injured when their vehicle ran over a land mine or unexploded ordnance. The military said the circumstances of the incident remain unclear.
