COALITION FORCES CONTINUE MILITARY AND HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE MISSIONS
CAMP DOHA, Kuwait - Coalition forces continue to focus military operations on security patrols, humanitarian assistance missions, facility assessments and sensitive site security in key Iraqi cities.
Several Iraqis fired rifles at a U.S. 82nd Airborne Division convoy near Al Fallujah May 3. Soldiers on the convoy returned fire and proceeded on their route. No U.S. personnel were injured. The status of the attackers is unknown.
Two individuals fired rifles at a patrol from 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment near As Samawah May 3. The two individuals were detained. No Marines were injured.
Despite the danger, Coalition forces remain dedicated to setting the conditions throughout Iraq so that the delivery of humanitarian aid and infrastructure repair can continue.
