Coalition Forces Continue HA Despite Disruptions
CAMP DOHA, Kuwait - Coalition forces continue to focus military operations on conducting security patrols, humanitarian assistance missions, facility assessments and securing sensitive sites in key Iraqi cities.
Several Iraqis fired rifles at a U.S. 82ndAirborne Division convoy near Al Fallujah yesterday afternoon. Soldiers on the convoy returned fire and proceeded on their route. No U.S. personnel were injured. The status of the attackers is unknown.
Two individuals fired rifles at a patrol from Second Battalion, Fifth Marine Regiment near As Samawah yesterday morning. The two individuals were detained. No Marines were injured.
Despite the danger, Coalition forces remains dedicated to setting the conditions throughout Iraq so that the delivery of humanitarian aid, and infrastructure repair can continue.
