COALITION DROPS NEARLY A MILLION LEAFLETS
SOUTHWEST ASIA - Coalition aircraft dropped nearly a million informational leaflets in southern Iraq today. The drops were part of an ongoing effort to protect Iraqi lives and deter Iraqi aggression by providing factual information to Iraqi civilians and military troops.
Coalition aircraft dropped 960,000 leaflets over several locations around Al Iskandariyah, An Nasiriyah, Tallil and Qalat Salih-all in southern Iraq.
The Coalition dropped seven versions of leaflets that expressed a variety of messages. Some of the messages conveyed information about Coalition radio broadcasts used to inform Iraqi people about United Nations Security Council resolutions. Others encouraged Iraqi forces not to risk their lives against coalition forces.
