- COALITION FORCES DROP OVER ONE MILLION LEAFLETS IN SOUTHERN IRAQ 1 Feb 2003 -- Coalition aircraft dropped 360,000 informational leaflets over southern Iraq today at approximately 1:10 p.m. EST.

- 1st Radio Bn. set to deploy USMC 01 Feb 2003 -- Elements of the 1st Radio Bn. Marine Forces Pacific, have been ordered to the U.S. Central Command area of operations in support of the Nation's ongoing war against global terrorism.
- 26th MEU (SOC) completes final exercise USMC 01 Feb 2003 -- The Marines and Sailors of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and Amphibious Squadron-6 are embarked this week aboard the USS Iwo Jima, USS Carter Hall and the USS Nashville for their final underway training evolution before deployment.
- Black Stallions get "gassed" in Djiboutian skies USMC 01 Feb 2003 -- Two CH-53Es from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron - 772 demonstrated their capabilities by "gassing up" in mid-air while carrying two High Mobility Multi-purpose Wheeled Vehicles (HMMWV's) during an aerial refueling exercise Jan. 30 in the skies over Djibouti.

- Tracking the Inspections 01 February 2003 RFE/L 01 Feb 2003 -- The UN Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission (UNMOVIC) noted in its daily briefing that it had requested an interview with an Iraqi individual but added that the interview did not take place because the individual arrived with a "witness" to observe the meeting.
- UN seeks private interview with Iraqi individual, but he insists on witness UN News centre 01 Feb 2003 -- United Nations weapons inspectors in Baghdad today attempted to interview privately an Iraqi citizen but were unable to do so when he brought along another individual.
- IRAQ / UN VOA 01 Feb 2003 -- The two chief U-N weapons inspectors will return to Iraq February eighth. The meeting is to take place ahead of a progress report the inspectors are to deliver to the U-N Security Council later this month
