- COALITION FORCES TARGET IRAQI MOBILE RADAR AND CABLE REPEATER SITES 16 Dec 2002-- In response to Iraqi acts against Coalition aircraft monitoring compliance of United Nations Security Council Resolutions over Southern Iraq, Operation SOUTHERN WATCH Coalition aircraft used precision-guided weapons today to target an Iraqi mobile radar and cable repeater sites. The targets were located near An Nasiriyah, approximately 100 miles southeast of Baghdad, and Al Basra, approximately 245 miles southeast of Baghdad. The strikes occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. EST.
